India spinner Deepti Sharma has climbed two places to sixth in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings, released on Tuesday, September 8, after a productive group stage at the Women’s Asia Cup 2026.

Wickets at the Asia Cup

The right-arm spinner took eight wickets in three group matches, a significant contribution as India reached the semi-finals. She has been among the most consistent wicket-takers in the tournament.

Deepti had previously held the No. 1 position, reaching it in December 2025.

The top six

  • 1. Sree Charani
  • 2. Sophie Ecclestone
  • 3. Charlie Dean
  • 4. Nonkululeko Mlaba
  • 5. Lauren Bell
  • 6. Deepti Sharma

Deepti is within 60 rating points of leader Charani, so the top spot is not out of reach. Strong showings in forthcoming T20Is could lift her further.

What next

With India through to the last four of the Asia Cup, the experienced all-rounder has another chance to strengthen her position and challenge the leading bowlers on the list.
