Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe Confirm Six-Week UAE Schedule

Afghanistan will host Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in the UAE in a programme that covers all three formats and runs for nearly six weeks. Venues have not yet been announced.

Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan welcomed the schedule, stressing the value of regular, high-quality cricket for Afghanistan’s players. The Bangladesh board said it was pleased with the Test and ODI fixtures, especially the chance to play Test cricket in UAE conditions against Afghanistan. Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni called the tour an important opportunity, with his side playing in every format.

How the tour unfolds

It opens with a one-off Test between Afghanistan and Bangladesh from October 9 to 13. A Tri-Nation ODI series with all three teams follows, starting on October 17 with Bangladesh against Zimbabwe, then Afghanistan against Zimbabwe on October 19 and Afghanistan against Bangladesh on October 21. The final is on October 23.

Afghanistan and Zimbabwe then play three T20Is, and the tour closes with a two-Test series between those two sides.
