BCB refuses PSL return for Mustafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana

The BCB has ruled out a PSL return for Mustafizur Rahman, who needs rehab, and Nahid Rana, who is being kept fresh for the Pakistan Tests.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided that neither Mustafizur Rahman nor Nahid Rana will go back to the Pakistan Super League this season, ending the involvement of both pacers in the current campaign.

Mustafizur to undergo rehabilitation

The ruling on Mustafizur followed his medical assessment after the third ODI against New Zealand. The left-arm pacer was advised to have an immediate scan, and the board confirmed he will now follow a rehabilitation programme supervised by the BCB medical team. He is therefore out for the remainder of the PSL season.

Nahid Rana kept for Test series

In a separate decision, the board said Nahid Rana will not be allowed to rejoin his PSL franchise. It said the aim is to ensure he is properly prepared for Bangladesh’s Test series against Pakistan next month, with his workload and fitness the priority.
