SRH Pacer Eshan Malinga Goes Viral Singing a Bollywood Classic

Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Eshan Malinga has drawn attention off the field after a clip of him singing a Bollywood favourite spread across social media.

The viral clip

The 25-year-old is seen performing Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai, from the 1991 film Saajan, at a team gathering. Teammates including Ishan Kishan and Praful Hinge cheered him on, and the room applauded. Fans praised the Sri Lankan’s singing and comfort with Hindi music, and some compared his confidence to the fearlessness he shows with the ball.

A breakthrough season

Malinga was picked by SRH in the 2025 mega auction, arriving from Sri Lanka’s domestic circuit as a promising but largely untested quick. He has since become one of the side’s most reliable bowlers, with 16 wickets this season and a reputation as a dangerous reverse-swing bowler. That has mattered more because captain Pat Cummins has missed seven of SRH’s 11 games.

Gujarat up next

SRH face Gujarat Titans on May 12 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT are third with 14 points from 11 games and have won four in a row. SRH have won four of their last five, including a convincing win over Punjab Kings, and victory could lift them to the top of the table.
