Sylhet Titans and Rangpur Riders meet in the 23rd match of the 2025-26 Bangladesh Premier League, and both sides still have playoff ambitions to protect. Sylhet, captained by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, staged the first half of the tournament at home but have not fully cashed in. Two wins from their first three games were followed by an uneven spell, leaving them with four wins and four defeats after eight matches, one of them a six-wicket loss to Rangpur. They come into this game lifted by a win over the Dhaka Capitals.
Parvez Hossain Emon has been Sylhet’s leading batter with 236 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 131.11, and the Titans have won every match in which he has made a meaningful score. Afif Hossain has added 153 runs. Azmatullah Omarzai has contributed 151 runs and six wickets in six games, while left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed has taken nine wickets in eight matches on helpful pitches. Khaled Ahmed (seven wickets), Mohammad Amir (four) and Mehidy complete a varied attack.
Rangpur won four of their first five games but have since lost twice in a row, so a result here matters against a direct rival. Dawid Malan leads their run charts with 205 in six innings, albeit at a strike rate of 105.73, while Towhid Hridoy’s unbeaten 97 against Rajshahi Warriors took him to 203. Khushdil Shah, Litton Das, Mahmudullah and Kyle Mayers have also passed 100. Mustafizur Rahman has 13 wickets in seven matches, but Faheem Ashraf, who took 11 in three games during the winning run, is missing. Aliss Al Hasan has five wickets, and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Akif Javed four each.
