Sri Lanka Cricket has named a 16-member squad for the ODI tri-nation series in Pakistan, with Kusal Mendis appointed captain.

The five-match event involves hosts Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England. The sides will play a group stage before a final.

Nissanka waits on fitness

Opener Pathum Nissanka is included but is not yet certain to travel. Sri Lanka Cricket said he will only go to Pakistan if the medical team clears him as fit.

His availability matters for the batting order, since he is a key option at the top of the innings. Should he miss out, Sri Lanka may have to rethink their opening partnership.

Blend of experience and youth

The group mixes seasoned players with newer white-ball talent. Former captain Dasun Shanaka returns alongside established names such as Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana and Dilshan Madushanka.
