Glamorgan face Northamptonshire in the 87th match of the T20 Blast 2026 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, on Wednesday 8 July. The match starts at 6:30 pm local time, and our preview expects a well-matched contest in pleasant, dry conditions.
Glamorgan’s possible XI is led by Kiran Carlson and includes William Smale, Benjamin Kellaway, Asa Tribe, Sean Dickson and wicketkeeper Chris Cooke. James Neesham, Daniel Douthwaite, Nathan McAndrew, Timm van der Gugten and Mason Crane give them all-round and bowling depth.
Northamptonshire are expected to be captained by David Willey and have Ricardo Vasconcelos, Nathan McSweeney, Calvin Harrison, Saif Zaib and Louis Kimber in the batting order, with Lewis McManus keeping wicket. George Bartlett, James Sales, Ben Sanderson and George Scrimshaw complete the line-up.
A total of about 180 should be highly competitive at Cardiff, with 190 plus likely to be difficult to chase. We give Northamptonshire a slight edge.
